"We demand the immediate release on US citizens Saeed Abedini, Amir Hekmati and Jason Rezaian, and ask for the cooperation of Iran in the search for Robert Levinson," he continued.
Abedinie, a US pastor of Iranian descent from Boise, Idaho, was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2013. He was considered guilty of establishing a home-based Christian churches in Iran.
"Two small children to grow up without his father," said Obama.
While Hekmati is a former US marine from Michigan, who was arrested in 2011 while visiting family. Hekmati was accused of spying for the CIA. "His family, including a father who is very ill, had to suffer too long for the absence of Amir," Obama said in a statement.
While Rezaian who was born in California became a daily correspondent of The Washington Post since 2012. He was arrested in July on charges that were never clear details. His wife, an Iranian-born reporter, Yeganeh Salehi, also was arrested but later released on bail.
As Robert Levinson, is a retired FBI agent, disappeared from the island of Kish in March 2007. According to Reuters, at that time, he became an informant for the CIA. The FBI offered a reward of $ 5 million for information that can bring her home safely.
