Yemen Rebels Seize Airfield Crucial,. Aden: anti-government rebels have taken control of a crucial air base near the residence while Yemeni President Mansour Hadi Abedrabbo in the city of Aden, Yemen, Wednesday (03/25/2015).
"Houthi seized Al-Anad airbase," said a Yemeni government official told AFP.
Previously, the Houthi rebels had seized an airport in Taez. It is located in between Sanaa, who controlled the Houthi since September, and the city of Aden, where dwelling President Mansour Hadi Abedrabbo after escaping from house arrest.
Through a letter, President Hadi ask the UN Security Council in order to save his country.
"I ask you all to intervene to stop this aggression aimed at undermining the authority of, the peace and stability of Yemen," Hadi wrote in a letter to the UN.
Yemen began to fall into the vortex of conflict since Ali Abdullah Saleh from power in early 2012, one year after the emergence of insurgency.
